Calis Terms of Use

Effective Date: June 5, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Calis, an early-stage career discovery product operated by Harry Holland under the name Calis.

By accessing or using Calis, submitting information, uploading a resume, requesting a career blueprint, paying for early access, or otherwise interacting with the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Calis.

1. What Calis Is

Calis is a career discovery and exploration product. It helps users explore possible career paths, career profiles, career matches, career worlds, and career blueprints based on information the user provides, such as aspirations, interests, selections, resumes, pasted resume text, work history, education, and related experience data.

Calis is currently an early-stage validation product. The product may change, break, be discontinued, or produce incomplete or inaccurate results.

2. Informational and Exploratory Use Only

Calis is provided for informational and exploratory purposes only.

Calis does not provide career counseling, legal advice, financial advice, educational advice, recruiting advice, employment advice, psychological advice, or any other professional advice.

Calis does not guarantee:

  • Job placement
  • Employment
  • Interviews
  • Admissions outcomes
  • Salary or income outcomes
  • Career satisfaction
  • Suitability for any particular role, company, school, program, or path
  • Accuracy or completeness of any career recommendation, blueprint, match, or profile

You are responsible for independently evaluating any career path, employer, job, educational program, training program, financial decision, or opportunity before acting on it.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Calis.

By using Calis, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

4. Your Information and Submissions

You may submit information to Calis, including text, selections, resumes, pasted resume text, work history, education history, skills, projects, certifications, payment confirmation information, feedback, and other experience data.

You are responsible for ensuring that anything you submit is accurate, lawful, and yours to share.

Do not submit:

  • Information you do not have permission to provide.
  • Highly sensitive information unless you are comfortable with Calis processing it.
  • Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, financial account numbers, passwords, or unrelated medical information.
  • Content that is unlawful, harmful, abusive, discriminatory, defamatory, misleading, infringing, or invasive of another person’s privacy.
  • Resumes, work histories, or personal information belonging to another person unless you have clear permission to submit them.

5. User Content Ownership

You retain ownership of the original information, resumes, text, files, feedback, and other content you submit to Calis, which we refer to as “User Content.”

Calis does not claim ownership of your original resume, pasted resume text, aspiration text, work history, education history, or other original User Content.

6. License to User Content

By submitting User Content to Calis, you grant Calis a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, use, process, reproduce, analyze, transmit, store, modify, format, summarize, display, create outputs from, and create derivative works from your User Content as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain Calis.
  • Generate career profiles, matches, worlds, blueprints, summaries, recommendations, and related outputs.
  • Parse, structure, and analyze resumes, aspiration text, work history, education history, and related experience data.
  • Provide support, respond to requests, and communicate with you.
  • Confirm payment status and deliver paid early-access outputs.
  • Debug, secure, test, and improve Calis.
  • Conduct product analytics and validation-stage research.
  • Develop, improve, and evaluate Calis’s systems, workflows, prompts, matching logic, and product experience.
  • Create, retain, use, and commercialize aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified datasets, insights, derivative works, research assets, matching systems, and models that do not identify you personally.

This license allows Calis to use your submitted information to operate the current service and to improve and build the future product. It does not give Calis ownership of your original User Content.

To the extent Calis creates aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified datasets, insights, patterns, systems, or derivative works from User Content, those aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified materials may be owned and used by Calis, provided they do not identify you personally.

7. AI-Generated Content

Calis uses third-party AI systems, including Anthropic, to process user inputs and generate outputs.

AI-generated outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, biased, irrelevant, or unsuitable for your personal circumstances. Similar inputs may produce different outputs. Outputs should be treated as a starting point for exploration, not as verified professional advice.

You are responsible for reviewing and verifying outputs before relying on them.

8. Career Blueprints and Personal-Use License

If Calis provides you with a career blueprint, report, profile, match list, recommendation, or similar deliverable, you may use that deliverable for your own personal, non-commercial career exploration.

You may save, print, and reference your own blueprint for personal use.

You may not resell, redistribute, publish, scrape, copy at scale, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit Calis outputs, formats, workflows, templates, prompts, systems, or generated materials without written permission from Calis.

9. Accounts, Sessions, and Access

Calis may use email, session tokens, browser storage, or other lightweight access methods during the validation phase.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of any access links, sessions, or credentials provided to you. You must not attempt to access another user’s information or any administrative area of Calis.

10. Payment Terms

During the validation phase, Calis may offer a $19 one-time early-access purchase for access to a career blueprint or related early-access deliverable.

Payment may be handled offline through Venmo or another method provided by Calis. Calis does not collect or store payment card details.

The $19 early-access payment is a one-time payment, not a subscription. You will not be automatically charged on a recurring basis by Calis for this early-access purchase.

Calis may change pricing, paid features, deliverables, or availability at any time.

11. Fulfillment

Calis will make reasonable efforts to provide the early-access deliverable described at the time of purchase.

Because Calis is an early-stage validation product, fulfillment may involve manual review, automated generation, or a combination of both. Calis does not guarantee that any deliverable will meet your expectations or produce any particular career, employment, educational, or financial outcome.

12. Refund Policy

Unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase or required by law, payments are non-refundable after the career blueprint or other paid digital deliverable has been generated, delivered, or made available to you.

Before delivery, Calis may choose, in its discretion, to provide a refund if you contact harry@calis.careers and request cancellation.

Calis may also choose, in its discretion, to offer a correction, regeneration, credit, or refund if there is a clear product error or fulfillment failure. This does not create an obligation to provide refunds in other cases.

13. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Calis for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive purposes.
  • Submit false, misleading, or unauthorized information.
  • Upload malware, malicious code, or harmful files.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, crawl, copy, harvest, or extract data from Calis.
  • Interfere with or disrupt Calis or its infrastructure.
  • Attempt to bypass security, access controls, session controls, rate limits, or administrative protections.
  • Attempt to access another user’s information.
  • Use Calis to make automated employment, lending, housing, insurance, educational, or other high-stakes decisions about another person.
  • Misrepresent Calis outputs as professional advice, verified recommendations, or guaranteed outcomes.
  • Use Calis outputs to defame, harass, discriminate against, or harm another person.

14. Calis Intellectual Property

Calis, including its name, branding, website, product design, software, workflows, prompts, matching systems, generated product structures, datasets, formats, templates, analytics, and related materials, is owned by Harry Holland / Calis or its licensors.

Except for the limited personal-use rights expressly granted in these Terms, you do not receive any ownership interest in Calis or its intellectual property.

You may not copy, resell, redistribute, modify, reverse engineer, or commercially exploit Calis, its software, its systems, its prompts, its workflows, its formats, or its underlying methods without written permission.

15. Feedback

If you provide feedback, suggestions, comments, survey responses, interviews, testimonials, or ideas, you allow Calis to use them without restriction or compensation to you.

This includes using feedback to improve, market, modify, validate, or develop Calis.

We will not publicly attribute a testimonial or quote to you by full name without your permission, unless you have already made that statement public or applicable law allows it.

16. Third-Party Services

Calis may rely on third-party services, including Anthropic, Supabase, Vercel, Resend, Tally, Venmo, and other infrastructure, analytics, AI, email, survey, or payment-related tools.

Calis is not responsible for third-party services, websites, policies, downtime, errors, or security practices.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

17. Privacy

Your use of Calis is also governed by the Calis Privacy Policy. Please review it to understand how Calis collects, uses, stores, and shares information.

18. Disclaimers

Calis is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calis disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and merchantability.

Calis does not guarantee that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
  • Outputs will be accurate, complete, useful, or current.
  • Career suggestions will be suitable for you.
  • Any job, salary, interview, admissions, education, employment, or career outcome will occur.
  • User data will never be lost, corrupted, delayed, or accessed without authorization.
  • Any paid deliverable will meet your expectations.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Harry Holland / Calis will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, lost data, loss of goodwill, emotional distress, reputational harm, or career, employment, educational, financial, or business outcomes arising from or related to your use of Calis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calis’s total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to Calis for the service giving rise to the claim.

If you have not paid Calis, Calis’s total liability will not exceed $50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

20. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Harry Holland / Calis from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising from or related to:

  • Your use of Calis.
  • Your User Content.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your violation of another person’s rights.
  • Your misuse of Calis outputs.
  • Your unlawful or unauthorized submission of another person’s information.

21. Changes to Calis

Calis is an early-stage product. We may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of Calis at any time, with or without notice.

We may also change features, pricing, availability, eligibility, fulfillment methods, outputs, or access methods as the product evolves.

22. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Calis at any time if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for Calis or others, submitted unlawful or unauthorized information, abused the product, or used the product in an inappropriate or unlawful way.

You may stop using Calis at any time.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property, user-content license, aggregated/anonymized data rights, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and dispute-related provisions.

23. Dispute Resolution

Before bringing a formal claim, you agree to contact Calis at harry@calis.careers and attempt to resolve the issue informally.

You and Calis agree to attempt in good faith to resolve any dispute for at least 30 days after written notice is provided.

If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be handled in the courts described in the Governing Law and Jurisdiction section below, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

24. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Essex County, Massachusetts, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

25. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Calis changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.

Your continued use of Calis after updated Terms are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
